Campus Pride & HRC Partner for Carolinas Leadership Day
Campus Pride Youth at HRC Carolinas Dinner 2008
Campus Pride offered a day-long leadership series this February 16, 2008 for LGBT & Ally college youth (ages 18-24) in partnership with the Human Rights Campaign Carolinas Gala Dinner. Nearly 20 youth from across the state of NC and SC attended the training developed and implemented by Campus Pride. Campus Pride facilitated a discussion with state-wide transgender leaders on the ENDA conflict with HRC as part of the day along with having special guest Elke Kennedy, mother of Sean Kennedy 20 year-old hate crime victim in Greenville, SC. The purpose of the Carolinas Youth Leadership Day is to provide youth
on the day of the dinner an opportunity to engage in social justice
training and to learn effective ways to be change agents in their local
communities.
Think, Act, Enjoy!
